ANNOUNCING MY 2013 TBR LIST

I always begin each year with a lengthy TBR list. However, I tend to not always stick to that list as the year goes on. When I want to read a new book, I am more likely to browse my shelves than my list. Having said that, I do start off with good intentions. There are plenty of books I'd love to read this year, many of which are books I wanted to read last year but didn't get around to. Some are new books that will be released this year. I always try to read at least one Newberry Award winning book, and a couple of non-fiction titles. But most of my choices are fiction, both adult and juvenile. So here is my master list of good intentions:

Adult Books
CITADEL by Kate Mosse
CASUAL VACANCY by J.K. Rowling
EARTH UNAWARE by Orson Scott Card
COLLATERAL by Ellen Hopkins
NIGHT CIRCUS by Erin Mortensen
AMERICAN GOD by Neil Gaiman

Young Adult Books
UNWHOLLY by Neal Shusterman
SHADOW AND BONE by Leigh Bardugo
VARIANT by Robison Wells
INSURGENT by Veronica Roth
SHADOWS by Ilsa Bick
FAIR COIN by E.C. Myers
WAKE by Lisa McMann
IMPOSTER by Jill Hathaway
TAKEN by Erin Bowman
DUALED by Elsie Chapman
BRUISED by Sarah Skilton
THE BINDING STONE by Lisa Gail Green

Middle Grade Books
THE LOST CITY by Shannon Messenger
SON by Lois Lowry
THE EMERALD RING by Dorine White
THE SEARCH FOR WONDLA by Tony Diterlizzi
THE KEY AND THE FLAME by Claire Caterer

Non-Fiction Books
ANDREW JACKSON AND HIS INDIAN WARS
THE LIFE OF ANDREW JACKSON
HIDDEN HEROISM
THE RISE AND FALL OF THE THIRD REICH
ISAAC'S STORM by Erik Larson

I reserve the right to change this list anytime I feel like it.

So, what are the top three titles on your 2013 TBR list? Any other books you think I should read?

  1. WOW you are amazingly organized. There may be a few I know are coming that I can't wait for, but more often than not I get sidetracked by books recommended by others. I love a good surprise! I'm especially looking forward to BRUISED by our own Sarah Skilton and I appreciate you adding my book to your list!! :D It makes me smile.

  5. If you haven't read SHATTER ME by Tahereh Mafi, I highly recommend it - finished the whole thing in 9 hours. It's un-put-downable!

    1. You know, I've got to read Shatter Me. My sister just gave me a copy of Unravel Me, the sequel, but I need to read the first one first. :)
