TU BOOKS RELEASES FIRST TITLES

If you haven't heard of Tu Books, then you're in for a treat. The new children's book publisher just debuted its first three titles for teens and middle grade readers. Tu Books is an imprint of Lee & Low, and specializes in fantasy and science fiction featuring characters of color.

I first heard about Tu Books shortly before the editorial director, Stacy Whitmore, announced her first manuscript acquisitions. I had the pleasure of hearing her lecture on diversity in speculative fiction at a writers conference last October and have been anxiously awaiting the release of Tu Books' first titles. I'm happy to say the wait is over. I'll be posting more detailed reviews as I read them (I'm in the middle of Galaxy Games right now). In the meantime, click on the links to read the summaries and exerpts. If you've got kids, teach kids, know kids - get 'em these books! They'll love them!

  1. I really like the cover of Tankborn. I didn't notice the babies in the bubbles at first. Kind of creepy!
